What do your services cost?
For clients with coverage outside of The Lactation Network or Wildflower, we ask for payment at the time of service at the prices listed below. We can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement following your appointment. As of 1/1/2025 we are no longer submitting claims to insurance providers on behalf of patients. See below for more details and tips on reimbursement. If cost is a concern for you, we do have payment plan options and offer a limited number of appointments available at a discounted rate. Please call Annalee at 919-438-2293 if you need alternative payment options for your appointment. How does payment work?
We require a card to be on file in order to receive services. On the day of your appointment your card on file will automatically be charged for the full amount of the appointment, unless a payment plan is in place. We accept HSA/FSA cards and can set up payment plans at no charge to you if you need to break up the appointment cost into smaller increments over time. Please contact Annalee if you would like to set up a payment plan. Following your appointment we will provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on many factors such as your policy, deductible, etc. That being said, many insurance providers have been reimbursing clients for our services. The remittance check will come to you once it has been processed.
What else helps with reimbursement?
It is a great idea to call your insurance provider before your appointment to see what lactation care coverage they provide. Due to availability challenges in some networks, some insurance providers are reimbursing out-of-network lactation consultants as if they were in-network. When you call, here are some details your insurance provider may want to know to preapprove your reimbursement: Teaching Babies to Nurse Tax id: 82-4095298 Teaching Babies to Nurse NPI: 1679246797 Diagnosis code: Z39.1 (care and exam of a lactating mother) Procedure codes: 99404 or 99403 Also, we have found that insurance companies are more willing to reimburse if there is an official referral to us for the services you are receiving. It is best if we can document the referral in your chart. To make this easier, we have created a Provider Referral Form, or you can have your provider fax one to us at 833-523-2335. A referral is not necessary to make an appointment, or for us to provide you with care.
