Lactation Consult
When breast/chestfeeding is causing difficulties, you need multifaceted support. We’re here for you.
Your goal is to understand why nursing isn’t going well. Our goal is to create a plan that supports you, your baby, and your support team. Together we will build the skills you need for more effective, comfortable feeding.

Why We’re Different
Our lactation consultants use Body-Led Breastfeeding techniques that integrate classic lactation care with a deep understanding of infant body function. Feeding is viewed through the lens of your baby’s postures, movements, and habits—and the compensations that can develop when your nursing experience isn’t going well. Solutions integrate measures at the breast with regulating your infant's body off the breast.

Levels of Lactation Care
1
Telehealth
Option
Standard Lactation Consult
Our standard lactation visits go beyond basic support, approaching your feeding challenges dynamically and incorporating your baby’s body into the treatment plan.
2
Telehealth
Option
Advanced Lactation Consult
With advanced lactation visits, your care is provided by the developer of Body-Led Breastfeeding and will integrate craniosacral techniques directly into the consultation.
Other Types of Visits
Combined Visits
If your baby’s body has tightness or asymmetries, one of the visits we provide is combined visits (called Mother’s Milk | Baby’s Body), where two providers—a lactation consultant and a bodyworker—work with you and your baby at the same time to support real-time change. We find that having the eyes and hands of a bodyworker in the visit can help move through places where feeding feels stuck.
Breastfeeding Medicine
If your feeding difficulties include underlying medical questions or conditions, our team also includes a physician who is also an IBCLC. She specializes in breastfeeding medicine, providing advanced breastfeeding-specific medical care, as well as osteopathic manipulative medicine.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
Birth is not always gentle on the body - for either child or birthing parent! If your baby, or you, need bodywork, we have you covered.
Our massage therapist will use a range of gentle, hands-on techniques, including craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, functional Bowen therapy, and other bodywork approaches.
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)
What if we all get stuck and feel like there is something bigger than suck dynamics and tension affecting breastfeeding or comfort? That’s when we call in our osteopathic physicians or DOs.
They have physician-level training in assessing whole body systems in a way that is particularly useful in the perinatal period when change is happening so fast for both mother and baby.
Insurance
We are covered by many insurance plans and are happy to work on flexible payment options that work for you.
FAQ
How many visits will I need?
We are teaching your baby new skills, so the learning process can take more than one visit. There are several ways to manage follow-up including signing up for a package, scheduling in-person return visits as we need them, or using virtual visits. We will make a follow-up plan before you leave the clinic.
What will happen after my visit?
At the end of your visit, you’ll receive a summary with a clear plan of care, along with any photos or videos of the techniques you’ll be using at home.
We’ll communicate with your baby’s primary care provider as needed, and make sure you have the information you need if you plan to seek insurance reimbursement.
You’re also welcome to reach out by text or email after your visit with questions. If you’d like more time to talk things through, we can always schedule a brief call or communicate through texting.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for an in-person visit?
Here are a few things to think about as you prepare for your in-person visit:
Timing & Scheduling
Initial visits typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, and follow-up visits are usually 1 to 1.5 hours. You can schedule through the app, and if you don’t see a time that works for you, please reach out—we’re happy to help find another option.
What to Bring
It can be helpful to bring anything you typically use during a feeding so we can work with what feels familiar to you. This might include:
-
Any breastfeeding supplies (nipple shields, syringes, bottles with milk, etc.)
-
A pacifier, if you’re using one
-
A breastfeeding pillow, if you prefer your own
-
Anything else that feels important or helpful to you
Bringing the things you already use helps us make your plan as practical and supportive as possible for home.
