Doula, Lactation Specialist
She/her

Heather has been working as a birth and postpartum doula for 10 years and has attended over 100 births. She found her passion and calling within the birthing community in Asheville, NC where she lived before heading back home to settle down in the Triangle.

She is in a lactation program currently and will sit for the IBCLC exam in fall 2023. It is her hope that women & families feel empowered and supported during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She loves to nurture families during this sacred time. One day she hopes to foster a safe space for families in the community to gather and support one another.

She currently lives in Saxapahaw with her partner, Miles, and son, Atlas. They have a small homestead with pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, a turkey, a turtle, some barn cats, and a dog. They enjoy spending time outdoors together, going camping, and music (Miles plays in local band, Big Fat Gap). Aside from birth work, Heather loves working in her gardens and is a community herbalist. She grows all of the herbs for custom teas & tinctures to support pregnancy and postpartum (and everything else too!)

For more on her work, please see her site, Hatch Doula Services and Feeding Support.

Heather is currently shadowing lactation consultations with Jamila Squires as part of her training to become an IBCLC.
